The Remann Hall Book Club was founded in 2013 by Margaret and Craig Ross, who believed in opportunities for youth in detention to become book lovers. Since then, RHBC has distributed over 5,000 new and used books to over 2,000 Pierce County youth in detention.
Every other week, we explore a new title and the youth lead the conversation about what they've read that week and how those readings speak to them and connect to their lives. We maintain a library of thousands of titles and each meeting, we bring carts of books for the youth to choose from. Besides books, youth are prohibited from keeping possessions in their rooms. Once released or transferred, youth can bring books with them.
If you would like to donate to purchase books to the Remann Hall Book Club, you can do so on our site. We no longer accept physical book donations per the restrictions of the Pierce County Court. Click on
