College-Age Independent poet registration is for individual 18-25 year olds, regardless of education status.
There are 12 open slots for the slam. We will pre-register 10 poets and leave two slots open for day-of registration.
THE RULES:
- Poets will need to prepare three (3) poems for the event. No repeats are allowed.
- Poems must be 3 mins. or less.
- No props or costumes allowed.
- Unlike LTAB-Tacoma's HS and MS slam, there is no restriction on language. But if you are invited to perform at the slam finals in as a showcase poet, you will need to perform a poem that is consistent with LTAB-Tacoma language standards.
Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place poets. Also, the winner of the College-Age slam will be invited to perform as a showcase poet at team slam finals on March 21.
Be sure to fill out our photo/video release form (see link above to the left)and bring it to our Crossing the Street event on February 29. If you do not have access to a printer, you can fill it out at the event.
